VOLUNTEER

Hospice Mid-Northland depends on donations and volunteers' support to meet the needs of the local community.
We always need more of both, so please contact us if you would like to help, even if it is only occasionally or for a few hours a week, or if you have any money-raising projects.
Volunteering is not just a one way process. Our volunteers are from a diverse cross-section of New Zealand society. They include young and not so young, Maori and Pakeha, and they have a wide range of interests and skills. However, their unifying strength is their enthusiasm to contribute to the workings of Hospice.
At the same time there is often some reward in addition to that which you get from helping the Hospice. Some of the benefits our volunteers have gained include:
  • Getting back into work whilst recovering from illness
  • On-the-job training which has enabled them to get paid jobs in retail
  • Work experience for pupils from local schools
  • Camaraderie and friendship with a like-minded group of caring people.
If you are interested in ‘lending a hand’ please check out the ‘opportunities’ page for more information and to access an application form or click here.
