How Our Services Are Funded
Hospice Mid-Northland relies on a combination of funding streams to cover the true cost of care:
Government Funding (37%)
Core grants from the Ministry of Health and DHB support a portion of our clinical staffing and essential supplies.Retail Shop Revenue (~31%)
Income from our local op-shops makes up almost half of the remaining shortfall—turning quality second-hand goods into world-class care.Community Donations & Fundraising (32%)
The balance is raised through donations, bequests and events (Carnival, Battle of the Ballroom, Art Auction, etc.). Every dollar stays in Mid-Northland to directly fund services here.
“Our community’s generosity fills the gap left by government funding—ensuring we can keep care local, compassionate and free.”
