New signage, safer equipment and a more visible Hospice campus

Hospice Mid-Northland furniture shop entrance and signage.

Hospice Mid-Northland has completed a range of practical improvements across its campus.

The work is not only cosmetic. Clearer signage, safer access and better equipment all help staff, volunteers, visitors, donors and shoppers move around the site with more confidence.

    Clearer signage

New signage now supports clearer navigation, stronger visibility and a more consistent Hospice brand.

The work includes a replacement main entrance sign, roadside signage on the Processing Centre wall, directional signage for The Cottage and donation areas, shop signage, opening hours, no-dumping messages and stronger calls to action.

    Safer tools and work areas

Safety improvements have included tidier pathways, clearer marking of edges and level changes, white-painted barrier arms, mobile platform ladders and a safer dedicated entrance to the furniture shop.

Rolling cages and a battery-powered tug have also been acquired to reduce heavy manual handling. Final processes are still being developed.

    Fundraising shed roof

The fundraising shed has received a new insulated roof after the previous roof became old and unreliable.

The work was funded through a bequest, with the allocation approved by the Board.

    A more visible Hospice van

Hospice Mid-Northland’s working van has also received a full branded wrap.

The van is used for medical equipment deliveries, donation deliveries and donation collections. Before the wrap was approved, Hospice considered whether a visibly branded vehicle visiting patient properties might create concern. Consultation indicated very little resistance.

The finished van has received overwhelmingly positive feedback.

These improvements support a more practical, visible and welcoming campus. To visit Hospice Mid-Northland, see our contact information. To support this work, visit Donate.
