Hospice Mid-Northland is incredibly grateful to the Kaikohe-Hokianga Community Board for a $6,000 grant that has enabled us to purchase two much-needed hospital beds for patients receiving care in the community.
At any one time, more than 100 patients are being cared for by Hospice Mid-Northland across our region. Having the right equipment available can make an enormous difference, helping provide comfort, dignity and safety while allowing patients to remain at home with their whānau for longer.
These new beds will help replace ageing equipment and strengthen the support available to patients and families when they need it most. Access to a hospital bed at home can also help prevent unnecessary hospital admission or transfer away from a patient’s community and whānau.
Thank you to the Kaikohe-Hokianga Community Board for helping us continue providing practical, compassionate care throughout Mid-Northland.
