The good news story is our shop window has been dressed for Daffodil Day in support of the Cancer Society. This photo doesn't do it justice. It looks amazing! Thanks to Adele and volunteer Pat Scott.
The bad news story is the weekly dumping we are getting at the back of the shop. Thi stumping comes at a HUGE costs to Hospice, this lot likely to be over $400 to remove and take to the dump. It takes many volunteer hours to process, clean and distribute the donated goods to our shops to recover this cost.
Hospice heavily relies on the income from our shops (approximately 40% of our operating budget comes from the shops) to be able to provide our services FREE to our patients and their families/whanau in the Mid-North community.
We have cameras that capture all this and we are now looking at options around prosecution and also publicly naming and shaming these people.
